Curriculum highlights
Curriculum: Sprouts classroom is enjoying spring weather by making special real 100% juice popsicles (no added sugar) on Thursdays in the classroom to enjoy on Fridays. The children are learning new vocabulary like names of fruits, tools used to squeeze juice, stir, mix and freeze. On Fridays they have picnic lunches. The teachers help to set up outside on the picnic bench. They are excited for the experience and the fun.
The children are learning about ‘The insects’, their body parts, and their peculiar characteristics. They saw the life cycle of Lady Bug, and the Butterfly and learnt about their body parts and later released them in nature. They are learning about the Ant and the Ant Hill parts in addition to the Praying Mantis. In the month of June, we will continue to enhance our curriculum on the farm unit. The children will be learning about “Mammals” especially the Horse and its body parts and learn some songs. They will learn many facts about the farm animals and their “animal Kingdom- mammals” and their characteristics.

Children have planted flower seeds and are watering them daily to see how many days they take to sprout.
In Math, they are learning about “odd and even numbers” and they are practicing using the new learnt facts in their everyday activities. Concept of Fractions has been introduced: It is a joy to see them practice with everyday items. The number on top (numerator)and the number on bottom (denominator). Some five-year-olds are practicing with proper and improper fractions. They are making fraction books, and some are even sewing fractions. In Language: The letter family “c, i, r, p” have been reintroduced. The diagraph sounds of “Ph, Gr, Gl, Pl, have been introduced.
Thank you for entrusting your beautiful children in our care.
